Si Scott

Si Scott is a graphic designer illustrator who is the driving force behind the UK-based Si Scott studio.  His obsessively hand-drawn pen and ink illustrated typography, graphic design and illustrations pull from both modern and traditional influences.

His unique approach evolved through his love of drawing, type and design and the ability to bring all these elements together to create something beautiful. His view on graphic design today is that there is some nice stuff emerging, but a lot of bad stuff too; then again if everyone liked everything and had the same views; the world would be a very boring place.

Whilst working for design companies he still developed his personal work (out of hours of course!), constantly pushing himself to produce new and different designs for his portfolio. Even at college he held the ethos to “do your own thing and never emulate”, whilst most people were developing skills with the newly emerging computer technology, SS was to be found in the workshops experimenting with letterpress and screen-printing. So it is easy to understand that often the briefs set by his clients become the object of rebellion, going against the grain and including elements he’s not supposed to.
